New for 2026 Nebraska caps nonresident deer permits. The June 1–12 draw has passed; from July 22 remaining permits sell first-come in any unit (statewide archery $372), online, at a Game and Parks office, or by mail — until the quota sells out. Buy before you book travel.

Permits must be printed, signed, and on your person while hunting. Valid only for the season/weapon/unit issued; non-transferable, non-refundable.
Notch the permit immediately. November-firearm deer: check-in location or Telecheck by 1 p.m. the day after the season closes. Other seasons: Telecheck within 48 hours. Checking must be complete before the carcass leaves the state.
